Conclusions

The Living Box is an unconventional housing system concept, which can be an effective, cheap and sustainable solution for temporary living needs, also on the medium and long term. Its quality, its formal appearance and its indoor comfort are comparable to those of traditional houses. Despite the temporary use, the energy efficiency is very high as well as the overall building sustainability performances. These properties are checked regardless the Living Box geographic location. So, the project can be seen as a synthesis among the living modularity studies and the current available wood-house technologies.
